The Bristol Warren Education Foundation (BWEF) is excited to announce a brand new scholarship opportunity for local high school students. The inaugural scholarship will be awarded to a senior from the Mount Hope High School class of 2018.
This is a new direction for the local non-profit, which is primarily focused on supporting educational excellence and innovation through funding grants to teachers. Since 2007, BWEF has awarded more than $400,000 in grants across all six schools in the Bristol Warren Regional School District. In keeping with the foundation's mission, the scholarship aims to reward a local student not only for academic achievement and extra-curricular participation, but also for showing a commitment to the local community through service.
Mount Hope High School guidance counselor Brian MacDougall is excited by the partnership with BWEF. 'The Education Foundation has shown dedication to our school community, both teachers and students, over the years, and this scholarship will provide a great opportunity for a student wishing to further their education.'
Applications for the $1,500 scholarship will be available through the Guidance office at Mount Hope High School before the end of the current school year and on our Website here, giving rising seniors plenty of time to fulfill requirements.
